What "big" lesson have you learned from students?

They are unique and special in their own right and should be treated with respect and genuine care.

Who is your hero and why?

Jesus! Because he is the perfect example of how we should relate to all humanity.

What one thing do you do to "go the extra mile" for your students?

Serve as a liaison between students and academic affairs.

How long have you been in advising?

20 years

What is the best advice you share with students?

My own undergraduate experience. I tell students if I was successful then they can be too. They have the potential to be successful.

King James Version of the Holy Bible.

What advice would you give to other advisors?

You must be nurturing, empathic, and knowledgeable of your institutions policies, procedures, and student population.

How do you fill your free time?

I have no free time. With an 8, a 6, and a 4 year old, my evenings and weekends are consumed with playing taxi and spending time with three special little girls.
