What "big" lesson have you learned from students?

Never take it personal when it seems as if students aren't listening because they really are.

Who is your hero and why?

I honestly do not have one. I am trying to be the hero in my daughter's life.

What one thing do you do to "go the extra mile" for your students?

I give them all the time needed to make sure they leave me at ease and confident with the decisions made.

How long have you been in advising?

7 years

What is the best advice you share with students?

Follow your heart and first mind when making career decisions. Make sure that your choice is something you'll enjoy passionately.

What is the last book you read?

Tricks of the Grade

What advice would you give to other advisors?

Be a great listener first before you advise. Design a strategy for each student because no two are the same.

How do you fill your free time?

What is that? I guess I utilize the little I have giving quality time to my daughter and fiancé.

What is the funniest story you have about advising?

I take things too serious to have anything funny to share. I'm usually about the business and the success of my students.
